Special rules apply to new drivers for the period of 2 years from the date of passing their driving test. What do they imply?
If a person subject to the special rules accumulates 6 or more penalty points before the end of the 2-year period (including any points acquired before passing the test) their licence will be revoked automatically.
If a person subject to the special rules accumulates 6 or more penalty points before the end of the 2-year period (including any points acquired before passing the test) they will receive a fine of up to £1000.
If a person subject to the special rules accumulates 9 or more penalty points before the end of the 2-year period (including any points acquired before passing the test) their licence will be revoked automatically.
If a person subject to the special rules accumulates 12 or more penalty points before the end of the 2-year period (including any points acquired before passing the test) their licence will be revoked automatically.
